Supercritical Unveils Global Tech Centre in London to Accelerate Hydrogen Deployment

LONDON - APRIL  1st, 2026 - Supercritical Solutions Ltd (Supercritical), a leading innovator in renewable hydrogen technology, officially opened its new Global Tech Centre (GTC) in London. The facility marks a milestone in the company’s rapid scaling, providing a dedicated hub for advanced testing, engineering and industrial collaboration as the global energy sector reaches a critical transition point.

The opening follows a year of significant growth for Supercritical which has seen its team expand from 15 to more than 40 experts. The GTC expansion complements the company’s ongoing technical milestones in Teesside, where its regional team continues to advance a dedicated industrial demonstration unit designed to prove the viability of its proprietary hydrogen production method at scale.

“Opening the doors of our Global Tech Centre showcases our commitment to solving the hardest engineering challenges in the hydrogen value chain,” said Matt Bird, CEO and Co-Founder at Supercritical. “As the future of hydrogen production hangs in the balance globally, we are providing the physical infrastructure and intellectual space needed to boost high-efficiency, scalable clean energy.”

To mark the opening, Supercritical hosted a dedicated event for investors, partners and key industry players. The centerpiece of the evening, outside of the facility itself, was a provocative panel session entitled, “Can the UK move from inventing ideas to building global industries?”  and moderated by Supercritical’s Business Development Manager, Dr. Abi Mountain. The panellists- Dom Falcao, Co-Founding Director of Deep Science Ventures (DSV); Siobhan Clarke, Chair, Supercritical; and Sarah Mackintosh, Director, Cleantech for UK- explored the current state of the hydrogen ecosystem, the path to energy sovereignty and the requirements to boost scalability, including policy, partnerships, governance and talent.

“The conversation highlighted how much vision, passion and expertise there is here in the UK for building the global hydrogen industry,” said Dom Falcao, Co-Founding Director of DSV. “From bringing to life the most advanced innovations to nurturing world-class talent, we are ensuring that British-born companies don’t just invent the future of international climate tech but actually scale it. The entire ecosystem is ready to move at pace, de-risking the technology and securing the global industrial pilots that will turn green hydrogen into a repeatable, reliable reality.”

Supercritical’s Global Tech Centre features precision environments for refining its membraneless electrolysis stacks; integrated spaces allowing for immediate iteration between design and physical assembly; and collaboration zones designed to host partners and stakeholders for co-development projects.

As Supercritical continues to scale both its presence in London and at its dedicated demonstration unit in Teesside, the GTC will serve as the primary engine for its next phase of technical validation and ecosystem engagement.

About Supercritical Solutions

Supercritical Solutions is pioneering high-pressure, ultra-efficient electrolysis to deliver affordable, renewable hydrogen and oxygen. Founded in London in 2020, the company’s patented membrane-free, PFAS-free, and iridium-free design produces hydrogen at up to 220 bar and 99% purity. Supercritical’s mission is to enable the renewable hydrogen economy by addressing the most challenging 20% of global emissions and driving the transition from fossil-based to renewable hydrogen across industry.
